Diet and Strain affect
growth, feed efficiency, and retention of nitrogen and lysine in hybrid
bluegill.
A study was performed by the WV department of Biology, West Virginia
State College, Institute, WV, between the Georgia Giant hybrid bream and
other hybrid bream. This study determined that the Georgia Giant hybrid
bream gained four times more weight in 12 weeks than any other hybrid
bream.
Study proves the Georgia Giant hybrid bream to be a faster growing fish!
Four experimental diets over a 12 week period proved:
1. The Georgia Giant hybrid bream had an overall growth rate of four
times faster than other hybrid bream.
2. The georgia Giants had a higher feed intake than other hybrid bream.
3. The Georgia Giants were more efficient feed consumers than other
hybrid bream.
