  • FREE ways to have healthier fish.
  • FREE help on designing a predator control program.

FOR THESE FREE SERVICES, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DIRECTION:

Send water, weed or algae sample for each pond you have. Number each pond and put size of pond and average depth on each sample. Describe the problems you are having with your pond. If you do not have specific problems you should test your pond water routinely, anyway, once or twice per year.

HOW TO PREPARE A WATER SAMPLE:

Use a clean jar. Do not use a jar which has contained vinegar. One half pint of water is a sufficient amount. Pack sample safely so it will not break during shipment. Tape lid to prevent leaking.

HOW TO PREPARE WEED OR ALGAE SAMPLE:

Do not put weed or algae sample in a jar or plastic bag. This will cause the sample to decay before it reaches us. Weed and algae samples need moisture and air. Use a small quantity of each different plant. Wrap in damp paper towels and then wrap in dry newspapers and place in shipping box.

FOR DISEASE SAMPLES:

We need a LIVE fish to check for disease. Bring this sample to us or ship by overnight carrier. If you are shipping to us, put a live fish in a small amount of water in a double plastic bag. Fill with oxygen and cool with a small amount of ice. Place in a Styrofoam cooler or ice chest and tape lid securely. Please note: UPS will not accept live fish. They may be shipped by The Postal Service, Federal Express or other carriers who provide overnight service.

FOR OFF-FLAVOR FISH

We need a water sample from the bottom of the pond. We will also need algae samples and mud samples from the location where the fish are fed.

SHIP ALL SAMPLES ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY.

This is important so that the samples will not stay over the week-end at the carriers.

BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR COMPLETE NAME, ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER ON EACH SAMPLE. THE MORE DETAILED INFORMATION YOU SEND, THE BETTER JOB WE CAN DO FOR YOU.
